FAQs
Q:
What do I do in case there is a power outage?
For
spas that are outside:
|
1.
|
Leave cover on spa
and don’t open it!! Get
a “trouble light” (a small 100 watt max. light bulb)
to put into the equipment compartment. Make sure it
does not touch any wires, plastic PVC or anything
else. Close the cabinet, trapping the heat inside.
|
|
2.
|
If no trouble light is available, the customer
may use a small electric heater that fits into the
equipment area, making sure nothing is touching
wires, plastic plumbing, etc., and is not too close to
any surface materials.
If you cannot do the
above, you should try to block as much of the wind
as possible- straw bales, around the outside of the
equipment end, blankets inside on equipment, etc. |
|
3.
|
DO NOT attempt to drain spa
UNLESS you are able to blow out all the lines and
"winterize" properly.
|
For spas that are inside heated rooms -
Leave cover on
For spas that
are inside non-heated rooms - Outside conditions
apply
***REMEMBER FREEZING IS 32° AND LOWER***
Q: My
spa does not heat at all, what should I do?
A: A suggestion would to be to first confirm that water
movement is sufficient at low speed, then high speed to verify the spa
heater is on. Turn off spa, check and clean filter. Replace
filter if necessary. Spa should heat at low speed.
Otherwise call for service.
Q: My
spa is not hot enough, how can I increase the heat?
A: If the thermostat is at the maximum setting, call our
service department to calibrate the thermostat or to check for other
malfunctions. 104O F is the maximum recommended
temperature for spa water.
Q: My
spa is too hot, how can I decrease the heat?
A: This is typically a summertime problem. First
set the spa's thermostat to less than maximum to verify heater is not
on. Program time clock to operate the spa during a cooler time
of the day to reduce kinetic heat gain. Verify that the spa runs
cooler after 12-24 hours.
Q: My
spa jets are weak, how can this be corrected?
A: First, clean the spa's filter or replace it if it is
aged for the optimal jet power. For testing, remove the filter, BE
CAREFUL NOT TO DRAW DEBRIS/TOYS, ETC INTO THE PLUMBING SYSTEM) turn on
pump and if the jets are now operating to full performance, you have
concluded the filter is the culprit.
Q: My
pump/jets surge off and on?
A: Verify that the spa has a sufficient water level to
adequately satisfy the pump.
Q: My
pump turns off after just a few minutes?
A: This is typically a summertime problem. Program the
time clock to run pump in a cooler time of the day, when the spa is
not in use.
Q: My
spa water is cloudy/smells bad, how can I correct?
A: If your spa water is over 90 days old, drain
water and refill. Otherwise make spa continuously filter until
clarity returns. Check and clean filter if required. Shock
water as per chemical manufacturer's recommendations. Repeat
shock in 12-24 hours until water clears. If water doesn't clear,
use clarifier as per manufacturer's instructions.
