1. Leave tub filled and running (do NOT drain or disconnect power).

2. Leave cover on spa and don’t open it! Get a “trouble light” (a small 100 watt max. incandescent light bulb) plugged into your generator, to put into the equipment compartment. Make sure it does not touch any wires, plastic PVC or anything else. Close the cabinet, trapping the heat inside.

3. If no trouble light is available, you could use a small electric heater that fits into the equipment area, making sure nothing is touching wires, plastic plumbing, etc., and is not too close to any surface materials. (1100 watts max. on low setting only)

If you cannot do the above, you should try to block as much of the wind as possible- straw bales, around the outside of the equipment end, blankets inside on equipment, etc.

4. DO NOT attempt to drain spa UNLESS you are able to blow out all the lines and "winterize" properly.

You’ll put your spa at risk of damage if the water is drained without the equipment being properly winterized. (If you decide you won’t be using the spa for the rest of the winter, keep the water temperature warm until you can have a professional close your spa for you.) Also, don’t pour antifreeze into the tub – it will create mess to clean up later, and it just isn’t good for the spa equipment.

5. Remove snow from your spa cover- DO NOT USE A SHOVEL. A broom is best.Keeping your spa cover clear of snow is important. Excessive weight on your cover for a prolonged period of time can cause damage to it.

***REMEMBER FREEZING IS 32° AND LOWER*** 

1.    Clean your filters!

Dirty filters can restrict flow and cause poor circulation. Dirty filters can be a large contributor to hot tub issues. Prevention and maintenance can be a huge money saver!

2.    Keep your heat up!

You may be tempted to turn your thermostat down but don’t! 104° F is the perfect temp to ensure your outside hot tub stays warm and toasty.

Changing the temp up and down will not save energy but increase your consumption as you attempt to regulate the temps back to normal range.

3.    Keep your circulation going.

Check that you have circulation on a regular basis. Programming your filter/heat cycles can help as well. Circulation will help move warm water through the tub and help check that your tub is functioning properly.

4.    Use tie down straps for high wind.

If you’re in an area with high winds, make sure you keep your cover from blowing off. Have an extra set of tie down straps around just in case. Without a cover, your hot tub is at risk for debris and getting too cold!

5.    Regular use.

Regularly using and performing your usual water care routine can help avoid future issues. Check and clean or replace those filters!

6.    Clean off your cover.

Clear off snow and debris off your cover and use a protectant regularly. Snow can build up and melt creating a messy situation if it freezes over the edges!

Don’t use a shovel!

7.    Use a spa blanket.

While your cover can help keep your hot tub staying warm, a spa blanket can be an extra blanket of heat security for your tub. (See what we did there?)

8.    External Protection

Consider blocking wind with a privacy panel, bales of straw or old blankets. If you have to use an external heater, call our Service Department to confirm that you are using the proper wattage and area setting.

9.    Check your water levels.

Low water levels may cause the pumps and heater to stop working, which will result in a frozen hot tub.

10. Check your filters!

We can’t stress this enough! It is vital to regularly check your filters and do water care!

WHEW……it's been an interesting last couple of months! Just remember, we've now a new subject to talk about for many years to come in the spa, at the BBQ, around the fireside or with the kids under the shade tree in a swing. We sincerely hope that you and all of your family, friends & neighbors have stayed safe and healthy. “Staycation” has taken on a whole new meaning!

Your health and well-being are important to us as we are moving into the next phase to reopen. We have taken your service requests and product orders by text & email for curbside pick up since March 21^st. 

Your service request, spa delivery, spa move, warranty work, etc. is now being scheduled. You will be contacted shortly with a scheduled date. PLEASE, if you or someone at your home is showing any symptoms, we ask that you do not come to the store or have us come to you. We will gladly reschedule your service. Understandingly, service is mostly outside, but we are all in this together and we want everyone to stay healthy.

Monday, May18TH @ 10am, we will be soft opening. This will allow a limited number of our treasured Pegasus family guests to be inside with a MASK on.

·        Per government mandate, all employees here will wear a face mask while at work.

·        Employees must refrain from touching their face to the maximum extent possible. 

·        Mandatory social distancing of 6-foot minimum between staff and clients, to the maximum extent possible (per Governor's Mandate 2020-59, section 11d). Our floors are marked.

·        Every hour on the hour, all high-use hard surfaces must be sprayed down with sanitizer.

·        All door knobs, railings, computers, phones and countertops are sanitized ongoing throughout the day.

·        Every employee must wash their hands at least once every hour for at least 20 seconds with hot water.

·        All staff members that are outside the building and return into the building must wash their hands for a minimum of 20 seconds.

·        We will continue to offer contactless curbside pickup as well as contactless delivery using credit card payments only.
