Impending weather tips
January 10th, 2020 at 2:03 pm   starstarstarstarstar

With the impending weather coming here's what to do if you lose power.

What do I do in case there is a power outage?

For spas that are outside:
1. Leave cover on spa and don't open it! If you have a generator you can use a “trouble light” (a small 100 watt max. light bulb) to put into the equipment compartment. Make sure it does not touch any wires, plastic PVC or anything else. Close the cabinet, trapping the heat inside.

2. If no trouble light is available, use a small electric heater that fits into the equipment area, making sure nothing is touching wires, plastic plumbing, etc., and is not too close to any surface materials.

If you cannot do the above, you should try to block as much of the wind as possible- straw bales, around the outside of the equipment end, blankets inside on equipment, etc.

3. DO NOT attempt to drain spa UNLESS you are able to blow out all the lines and "winterize" properly.

For spas that are inside heated rooms
- Leave cover on

For spas that are inside non-heated rooms
- Outside conditions apply

***REMEMBER FREEZING IS 32° AND LOWER***
